She’s All That

Ah, the ’90s. Long have I heard about this movie, much have I seen it meme-d and gif-d. With Usher, a great supporting cast (see: Paul Walker, Anna Paquin, Gabrielle Union, Dule Hill), and a formulaic plot, this movie doesn’t try to hide its intentions. I have to wonder what was the appeal of Freddie Prinze Jr.- he’s decent looking, but not exceptionally so- was it just his father? And Rachel Leigh Cook is certainly beautiful, to the point where one has to wonder where she went in the business (and who, for that matter, ever thought that a pair of glasses magically made her unattractive). In the end, saccharine as it is, She’s All That is cute and enjoyable in a forgettable way.
